All about plant energy according to Feng Shui

Feng Shui is an ancient art that is more than 4,000 years old. It has its origins in ancient Chinese culture and is a philosophy that, from the beginning, has studied the flow of energy in nature (called Chi) to achieve harmony in different spaces. Its literal translation is wind-water, because in the beginning it focused on the study of climate change, nature and the stars in people’s Chi. Nowadays, it focuses more on architecture and decoration, being a philosophy that provides that not only the actions and thoughts of each person influence his well-being, but also the space that surrounds him and the objects found in it.

In-depth studies of Feng Shui have determined how plants act energetically inside and outside the most intimate space, the home, because being living beings, they energize energy and can move it from one place to another.

Pothos, energy depending on its position

The Pothos plant can attract positive or negative energies depending on its location. This plant is famous for its easy maintenance and beauty. However, it is important to pay attention to where you place them, because they absorb all the energy (good and bad). So the advice is to place it on windows or in hanging pots (away from the ground) to balance bad energy levels. Make sure you don’t have too many Pothos pots (maximum 3), because they would absorb a lot of energy and break the ideal harmony.

Bamboo, positive energy

It is a strong and flexible plant, so it will give your home a special power to adapt to changes. It is also a plant considered relaxing and will bring you a sense of peace. Feng Shui believes that, depending on the stems of a bamboo, it will bring different benefits: two bamboo stems represent love for a couple, three stems attract happiness, wealth and longevity, six stems attract luck and prosperity, seven good health. And if there are eight of them, this is a very lucky number in Feng Shui, a quantity that symbolizes growth.

Agave, negative energy

Be careful of elongated leaves, because they attract bad energy. So agave, along with all its relatives (maguey, yucca, etc.) should be avoided indoors. However, they are a great option to place in the garden, terrace or balcony. In this way they absorb the negative energy coming from the outside and take on the role of protecting the house.

Anthurium, positive energy

This flower radiates excellent energy and strength, therefore it is recommended to place it in living spaces such as the living room or dining room. Its plants with rounded axes and heart-shaped flower with strong petals are ideal for circulating energy around you. It is considered the love plant, so get some for your decoration. Hortension, negative energy

They are beautiful flowers, but unfortunately according to Feng Shui they represent loneliness and introspection. Therefore, they should be avoided in home decoration. Especially if you are looking for a good relationship between the people who live there. According to Feng Shui, hydrangeas attract negative energies.

Jade, positive energy

Jade is considered the money plant. Furthermore, it is aesthetically beautiful and its care is minimal. Its fully rounded leaves are beneficial for attracting and aiding the circulation of good energy. Furthermore, Feng Shui philosophy states that there are plants that attract prosperity and abundance. So in addition to the fact that you have it at home, it is recommended to use it to furnish work spaces.

Bonsai, negative energy

Although it is a very interesting plant native to the East, it has been deliberately modified to stop or prevent its growth. So Feng Shui predicts that it is a plant that will fill a space with negative vibrations. Simply admire their structure, but keep them away from your home.
